Most of you know my friend Dynah. For those of you that don’t, she is quite awesome. Although she has Friedreich’s Ataxia, she has to be the most active friend I have.
From skiing to biking and rowing, I just noticed she said that she went golfing today. This girl is crazy. She mentioned on her blog that she is going to be biking to raise money for MS.

I am glad to welcome a guest post from my friend Sarah, who recently spent a lot of time in Wuhan visiting me. Please show your appreciation for her work and look for her to start her own blog of hilariously awkward situations.
We are in Wuhan, where Lee has been living and teaching english for the year. The kids in class laugh at how tall I am and our names have changed from “Sarah and Katy” to “Carol and Sadie”, though I might have been “Shirley” today.

So Lee and I arrive at the park in Bai Bu Ting to await Steven and the eventual ride to Linda’s house in a car we could only assume would be driven by Linda. That idea that was scary in and of itself. Thankfully, the car we piled into was driven by Linda’s father, a healthy looking elderly man who must have been thrilled to pick up two foreigners and a late-twenties Chinese man. We get in the little van, cozy, with a little makeshift seat next to a bicycle. The ride to Linda’s house is bumpy and a little hurty, but fun; we got to see the “countryside” conveniently located about 3 minutes from where we live. There were still big pine trees in the distance, open spaces, but not for long. The area looks like its being cultivated for more big apartment complexes, shopping malls, and the rest of civilization, whatever that is.

So on Sunday I took the 508 to Wuhan Plaza as per usual. Of course there was some crazy accident or traffic in general and I was slightly late. I run to my class which has only one person I recognize, and 3 new people. Two of the new people did not speak during the entire class, and one of them was basically fluent in English. The class consisted of us talking about differences between America and China.

We have managed to meet quite a few characters so far, one of the first of which is Linda. We met Linda in a restaurant close to our home in Bai Bu Ting, our community, she came up to us out of nowhere and asked us to play badminton with her later in the week. We did, and ever since then I have talked to her at least once a day on the Chinese instant messenger system, QQ. Linda is very different than most Chinese girls I’ve met here; she is independent, opinionated, not running around in too-high heels and too-short shorts. She knows English pretty well, although she has trouble speaking it.

Ni hao! Lee thought it would be a good idea, or at least interesting, if I wrote some entries on his blog, and I wholeheartedly agree.
To catch you up on the last 3 months or so, I can really only say that this experience has been intense in every aspect. I have felt every emotion possible, and even some new ones that I didn’t know existed, like something that can only be compared to awkwardness, except this feeling remains unresolved for long periods of time due to the language/culture differences. A better one is the sudden onset of delirious happiness I get after finishing a long day of teaching and getting mobbed by 20 first graders screaming out MISS YOYO!

I am glad to introduce Colette as a contributor to this blog. As you know, we met on Semester at Sea and chose to come to China together to teach the kiddies. She will be here to provide a female perspective and insight into the daily life of us “la wei,” foreigners. I hope you provide her as much love as you provide me.
Her posts will be coming as often as mine, I hope.
Holy smokes, now available are the Microsoft 70-649 exams and the actual tests for CiscoĆs 646-204 and the hidden 642-901 exams. Not unlike the original MS 70-270 exam, networking and server administration will be tested and retested.

Hey everybody, this is Stu Jerue. Lee “Mad Dog” Frank had asked me to take over blogging duties, but sadly I haven’t gotten to it until now. My blogging skills are a bit rusty these days, so I want to keep it simple for the readers of Wuhan. I have compiled a top 10 list of fashions throughout history that have gone out of style, but are still awesome in my mind, and need to come back.
10-Tri-cornered hats
9- Grillz and gold teeth. They used to be all the rage like a year ago, but I feel like its been ages since I’ve seen a nice shiny piece of mouth-bling.
