So I’m moving to NY soon…

I’m making a groundbreaking move to Brooklyn, NY next week and the most important thing I was told to have ready was a pair of skinny jeans. It was suggested as a necessary by some friends, while some suggested against it.

I decided to give it a try. I went to the Levi’s Outlet store at a nearby mall and asked the woman working about 511 jeans, the “Skinny” fit. She walked me over towards the meager Men’s rack while telling me that they didn’t have much in the Men’s section, but she was an avid converter of dudes to girl’s skinny jeans.

I let her walk me to the girl’s section where we looked at some different finishes and she chose me a size 5 and a 7. I picked up a pair of 514s (slim straight) in the men section and headed to the fitting room. Starting with the men’s, I tried on and succeeded to find a well-fitting pair. Then I tried the 5, thinking that I’m smaller than that (I think I am). When it got stuck on my calf, I moved to the bigger ones and they also stuck on my calf and I now have body image issues because I’m a cow.

Girl Talk rocks RADly

Date August 19, 2008

To start, have you said “rad” yet today?

Anyway, Girl Talk is a pretty popular dude right now. A former desk jockey in Pittsburgh, I’m pretty sure he’s quit his day job because he’s in high demand.

His third LP dropped about 2 months ago and if you need a background, he is a mashup DJ. He is the mashup DJ, if you ask me. He crams samples and tracks into 1 song better than Pert Plus crams conditioner into their shampoo. His last album took a noticeable change as he said that he wanted to let key samples stretch out a bit more than they have in Night Ripper and Unstoppable.

Googleable? Not I.

Date August 18, 2008

I just decided to check what would happen if I googled my name.

Would I find this blog? No, I didn’t. I guess that could be because I never mention my full name on here, but maybe not. What am I missing on my climb to the top of my own name ladder.

I was able to find my LinkedIn profile and my old site that shouldn’t exist anymore. (I’m not sure why it is up still). Also, I found this band Perfect Lee Frank. They are a Australian band and that is their myspace. You can hear them here. You should love them, a lot or a little.

What are the top results for your name? Anything really funny?

Stuff for free is stuff for me

Date August 15, 2008

I have no incredible stories for you today, however, I believe I can tell you about some free stuff I have found.

Do you ever wonder why going to a film is so costly? I often wonder this and as I am moving to NY very soon and movie tickets there are about $12.50. I found this website, Film Metro, that holds screenings in major cities for FREE before movies debut.

Movies like The Rocker, Disaster Movie, Traitor and Ghost Town are all movies available right now. All you gotta do is sign up, which takes a minute and they sent you downloadable and printable tickets.

With the 2008 Olympics on the way…

The gold medal for restaurant naming translating errors goes to this place. Take a look at that place. What food would you order at a place that didn’t realize that their English name was pointing to an error that Google Translate or Babblefish made. It’s classic bad engrish.
