People have a sixth sense, a second sense and sense and sensibility. Now, courtesy of my English slang book, I present you with the ability to have a “horse sense.” Unlike our last animal one, happy as a clam, I haven’t gotten a clue of what this is related to.

It seems to mean something like “street smarts,” but I’m not certain. Maybe you can help me with the use of the books example.

Tina: “How can Jack be employed by that big company? He didnt even go to college.”

Dwight: “His boss was impressed with his horse sense.”

So, I guess this one is just that, “street smarts” or natural skills. With that, my impressive example:

Baldwin: “How did he just jump right on that horse and take off?”

Wendy: “Maybe it was his horse sense with horses or maybe it was the 30 years of riding experience he has.”

YOU TRY, PLEASE.
