Xing Ba Ke 2

The new Starbucks has opened by Jianghan Road and I finally learned how to say the Chinese name, “xing ba ke.” Inside I learned that tonight, they didnt have any decaf or light beverages, which means the Chinese women will have to stand instead of sitting for a lot longer. (Chinese women often talk about standing up to lose weight).

Tonight, I was there to meet a friend from college that had a ABC (American Born Chinese) Wuhanren friend. She has just arrived in China and immediately was spotted by a lot of Chinese because of her naturally Jewishly curly hair. After breaking into discussion of the interesting food she has partaken, she asked about life in Wuhan. I told her the intricacies of finding Hello Pizza and babies wearing slitted-down-the-middle pants.

After finishing my bing ka fei (Iced Coffee) and discussing Wu Han life, I was forced back to bed at 10 pm like an old man.
