Today I went to Walmart. I know, why am I going to American places in China, but this was different. We took a bus, the 707, on recommendation by our fellow teachers, Lili/Leelee/LeiLei and April, on a whim to get out and see this city. We left unaware of how long to stay on the bus or if we’d see the store anywhere near the road. Convinced we were lost, we asked a woman about it as we were pulling up. Feeling silly, she pointed directly to the left to the Walmart surrounded by a KFC and McDonald’s.
it is currently 11:30 am in Beijing. I am here again and instead of taking the train to Wuhan (it was apparently booked), I am flying expensively to Wuhan in a little. It is crazy here. I am way out of my not-speaking-Mandarin league. It has yet to hit me that I am away from all that I know for the next year. However, I am reconnected with Colette and get another opportunity to see Asia and really experience Chinese culture.
Everyone who sees this or knows me has an open invitation to come see me. It would be amazing to see my friends in another continent. Talk to you soon, public.
Certifications in China are at an all time high even with the new rules regarding Microsoft and their testing procedures. MS 70-290 covers a great deal of networking and server practices that you wonít find in the 70-291, even though it is an advanced exam. Rounding the list for MS is the 70-649 and 70-270 exams, which are available for download at real exams.
As you all know, I am leaving this week on a voyage of learning. I will soon be an oral speaking expert at Yucai Primary School in Wuhan, China. I have decided before I go to compile a list of the 13 places I will miss the most when I am across the world. Links to their website or yelp page are included:
13. Afficial - clothing/shoe spot at 608 5th st. This place is designed to look like a pool and it looks like a pool. I have yet to purchase a thing in this store, but I always like to go in to see the design and the cool new shoes.
12. Bitar’s - A falafel and other Mediterranean goods shop. They have a small, cozy dining area. I love it there because it is delicious and $2.50 for a falafel. My roommates and I frequent this establishment often. Awesome Mango and Guava Nectar.
11. The P.o.p.e. - Pub on P’unk ave as it is called is a pretty sweet, recently installed bar. Their selections are awesome with a wide variety of things I don’t know and also, PBR.
10. The Java Company - I think most people would know this place as Philly Java and I love this place. I’ve actually only had Iced Coffee here, but the aura is awesome and the IC is not bad either. Delightful carmel to top the coffee for FREE!
9. Doc Watson’s - This place is a bar in Center City, which bi-monthly was taken offer by Acoustic Philly and Ezra. I was always here for Chicky shows. I love Chicky as you all know. But I had a blast at all of these shows, especially falling in love with Sarah the barkeep.
8. Pat’s - I had to throw a shoutout to my neighborhood cheesesteak place. Without this place, I might have better arteries and less processed cheese. I hate Geno’s.
7. Ba Le - The miraculous Vietnamese Hoagie has pushed me through such journeys as the one for the Digi 002 and also to the NJ Shore. I love these $3 rolls of delicious. Also, I am able to get disgusting beverages there.
6. Taqueria Veracruzana - I enjoyed this place a lot of my visits there (2). I love authentic Mex. Especially if it involves guac. Please go here. And then go to their market across the parking lot and get a ridiculous Pinata, like we did. Read the rest of this entry »
hi. i throw parties. that picture is from one. it was arena rock at its best. we all qualified as genius rockers, prodigies, even.
Paul Lingerman, official arena rocker, was in attendance and he can verify that we surpassed all expectations. he was first mentioned on this blog as the hoagie shredder and he viciously took out our pinata.
i spent a week on a houseboat on Raystown Lake followed by a weekend (celebrating my 23rd) at the NJ shore.
i sorta fished a bit and swam a lot. i’m fairly certain that i’ve never eaten so much meat in any month of my life as i did in 5 days. i’ve also never seen so many miller lites in one cooler. it was fun when i fell off big bertha two days in a row and put my life on the line.
then we returned to philly to immediately leave for the nj shore. the boys and girls club came and we celebrated by telling girls it was my birthday, which failed countlessly, but was miraculous humor-wise. my birthday meal occurred at continental, a stephen starr establishment; it was delicious, are you pissed you weren’t there?
thats right. i’m now on the good side. my mac will be helping my catapult to the pinnacle of blogging society. i already love the photobooth and i love xtorrent.
ttys.

Hey everybody, this is Stu Jerue. Lee “Mad Dog” Frank had asked me to take over blogging duties, but sadly I haven’t gotten to it until now. My blogging skills are a bit rusty these days, so I want to keep it simple for the readers of Wuhan. I have compiled a top 10 list of fashions throughout history that have gone out of style, but are still awesome in my mind, and need to come back.
10-Tri-cornered hats
9- Grillz and gold teeth. They used to be all the rage like a year ago, but I feel like its been ages since I’ve seen a nice shiny piece of mouth-bling.
Lee is a 24 year old American that blogged from China about his life as an American teacher. Now he is back in Philadelphia Brooklyn confused about cheese jeans, jobs and life.
